Throughout much of 'Christendom' baptism is considered an important event in a religious life, whether christening an infant or joining a church. It is recognized as an initiation ritual; a solemn activity marking a beginning in faith, membership, etc. The confusion of opinions concerning baptism stems from the lack of a Biblical perspective on the matter. Many individuals (and institutions) develop their views and take their stands from the views and stands of others, resulting in many, varied ideas of the activity. So, while the majority believe it important, the whens, the wheres, the hows, and the whys can begin to dishearten the serious searcher.
In this short work (relatively speaking) we’ll cut through the 'views and stands' to reveal the simple New Testament doctrine concerning the significance of baptism. We'll progress in the following manner:
· What is Immersion?
· What meaning does God instill in Immersion? (a bit lengthy)
· What Immersion isn't.
